Richard is a set and costume designer working throughout the UK and internationally designing drama, musical theatre, opera and dance.  His work has been seen across Europe, Asia and the Middle East and includes the West End Premieres and subsequent International Tours of Seussical and Guess How Much I love You and the UK Tour of hit musical Avenue Q.  In 2018 he was shortlisted for the Scottish Culture Design Award and his work has been nominated for the Broadway World Awards (Addams Family, 2014 ), the Off West End Awards (Merchant Of Venice, 2013 ).  He was shortlisted for the Old Vic 12 in 2015.
Richard's recent work includes: A Night To Remember  (Citizens Theatre), Art  (Vienna's English Theatre), Bring On The Bollywood  (UK Tour) and Little Red and The Wolf  (Noisemaker and Dundee Rep Ensemble) which was nominated as best Children's production at the UK Theatre Awards 2016.
Richard is Associate Designer to New English Opera, designing Rossini's Cinderella and Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel  for them in recent years.  He also has a long standing relationship with Selladoor, including three years as Associate Designer, designing 11 productions for them since 2011.
Alongside his theatre work, he has also worked extensively in TV and Film, as a buyer, art director and set dresser, including the BBC One series Justice, Moving On and Secrets and Words, the BAFTA-nominated Make A Musical and the first feature film of the incredibly popular Horrible Histories franchise  - Bill  - for BBC Films.
