Richard is a set and costume designer working throughout the UK and internationally designing drama, musical theatre, opera and dance.  His work has been seen across Europe, Asia and the Middle East and includes the West End Premieres and subsequent International Tours of Seussical and Guess How Much I love You and the UK Tour of hit musical Avenue Q.  In 2018 he was shortlisted for the Scottish Culture Design Award and his work has been nominated for the Broadway World Awards (Addams Family, 2014 ), the Off West End Awards (Merchant Of Venice, 2013 ).

Richard's recent work includes: Shaw Goes Wilde (Royal Academy of Music),  
The Snow Queen (Dundee Rep and Noisemaker), The Children  (Vienna's English Theatre), and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant Show (UK and International Tour).

Beginning in 2019 Richard is designing the full portfolio of productions for Prime Pantomimes which will play throughout the UK in coming years.  He has a long standing relationship with Selladoor Worldwide, including 3 years as Associate Designer, designing 13 productions since 2011. While he was also previously Associate Designer to High Time Opera, designing Rossini's Cinderella and Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel for them in recent years.  

Alongside his theatre work, he has also worked extensively in TV and Film, as a buyer, art director and set decorator, including The Princess Switch 3 (Netflix | Feature Film), The Lost King (Pathé | Feature Film) and The Control Room (BBC).
